Officers for 2016-2017
PresidentSharon Garcia is a biology major concentrating in biomedical sciences. She has an interest in regenerative medicine and cures research and plans to become a pediatric plastic surgeon. On top of being the president of MOSS, she is an active member of SEE and Dr. Crawford’s research lab, an academic mentor at Sacramento’s Food Bank and Youth Education program and works as a manager at McDonald’s. Her favorite color is green because it reminds her of life and freshness. She works very hard to provide a great lifestyle for her Russian Blue cat, Mia.

Vice PresidentBibiana Rodriguez is a biology major with a minor in chemistry. Most people call her Bibi. She is interested in evolution, environmental science and genetics. Bibi is still weighing her options for post-graduation, but she is interested in attending graduate/professional school. Her favorite colors are blue and orange, just like the Mets! Before she dies, Bibi hopes to travel to all 50 states.

SecretaryUgbad Farah is a biochemistry major entering her fourth year. She looks forward to a career working in the industry in research and development. When she’s not involved with MOSS, she spends her time as a member of the Global Health Awareness club. Regardless of the distance, whether it’s within California or overseas, Ugbad loves traveling and sightseeing.

TreasurerCarmina Gutierrez is a biology major concentrating in biomedical sciences with minors in Spanish and chemistry. She has an interest in the medical field and plans on becoming a dermatologist. Aside from being the treasurer of MOSS, she is a SEE ambassador and works at the Hornet Bookstore café. Carmina was a member in Dr. Robert’s research lab and has participated in a REU at the University of Idaho. She is a former soccer player and French horn/mellophone player and enjoys reading, baking and sports on her free time.

Public Relations OfficerAbraham Sugay is a biology major concentrating in clinical laboratory science with a minor in chemistry. He mainly goes by Abe, but is also known as Ah Bay, Eggy, Abacus, and Habibi Yalla. His main focus is becoming a CLS, but he also finds interest in stem cell biology and genetics. Along with being in MOSS, Abe is a member of SEE and Dr. Reams' research lab, and works as a C2S ambassador. His favorite color is blue because he finds himself wearing blue often. Abe loves coffee and frequents Sacramento-based coffee shops.

Club AdvisorRichard Aguirre, SEE Services Coordinator for the Science Educational Equity (SEE) Program is the current advisor for MOSS. Richard is an alumnus of Sacramento State receiving his degree in Biology Science. During his time as an undergrad not only was he a member of the SEE Program, he was a member of MOSS where he held several leadership roles including president. Richard has gained a ton of knowledge from his time at Sac State and enjoys sharing it with the students.
